How to Setup Subathon Timer for Twitch

1.1 Navigate to Subathon Timer

Go to subathontimer.com and click the "Sign in with Twitch" button on the homepage.

1.2 Authorize the Application

You'll be redirected to Twitch's OAuth page. Subathon Timer requests the following permissions:

• Read your email: For account verification
• View subscription data: To track subscription events
• View bits data: To track bits donations

Click "Authorize" to continue. We securely store OAuth access and refresh tokens to maintain your connection and receive event notifications. You can revoke access anytime from your Twitch Connections settings.

1.3 Access Your Dashboard

After authorization, you'll be automatically redirected to your dashboard. This is your control center for managing your subathon timer.

2.1 Set Subscription Times

In the "Timer Configuration" section, set how much time each subscription tier adds to your timer:

• Tier 1 Subscription: Default is 300 seconds (5 minutes)
• Tier 2 Subscription: Default is 600 seconds (10 minutes)
• Tier 3 Subscription: Default is 1200 seconds (20 minutes)

💡 Tip: Adjust these values based on how long you want your subathon to run. Lower values = shorter streams, higher values = longer streams.

2.2 Configure Bits Donations

Set how bits donations affect your timer:

• Bits Base: How many bits = 1 time unit (e.g., 100 bits)
• Time Per Base: How many seconds to add per base (e.g., 60 seconds)

Example: If Bits Base = 100 and Time Per Base = 60, then 500 bits = 5 minutes added to the timer.

2.3 Set Initial Timer Duration

Use the "Quick Adjust" section to set your starting timer value. Common starting times:

• 1 hour (3600 seconds) - Short subathon
• 6 hours (21600 seconds) - Standard subathon
• 12 hours (43200 seconds) - Long subathon

Engage your community by creating subscription goals:

1. Scroll to "Goals Configuration" in your dashboard
2. Click "Create Goal"
3. Enter a title (e.g., "Emote Reveal" or "Community Game Night") and target number of subs
4. Save and watch progress bars appear on your timer overlay

💡 Tip: Create multiple goals to maintain viewer engagement throughout your subathon.

When you're ready to go live:

1. Click the "Start Timer" button in your dashboard
2. Verify your OBS browser source is showing the countdown (setup help)
3. Start your Twitch stream
4. Watch subscriptions and bits automatically add time to your timer!

Controls available during your subathon:

• Pause/Resume: Pause the timer for breaks
• Add/Remove Time: Manual adjustments if needed
• Event Logs: View all subscription and bits events in real-time

Timer not updating with subscriptions?

Make sure you're a Twitch Affiliate or Partner. EventSub requires these statuses to receive subscription events.
